Reputation is metric used in game that the Gym Leader gets doing various things for Umbal City. This determines plot progession, amount of Pokémon the Gym Leader can carry, and other things. Losing battles will lose reputation. As the Gym Leader gains Reputation, the Pokémon League promotes the Gym Leader to higher Ranks which allow the Gym Leader to use more Pokémon in Gym Battles. At the start of the game in Rank 1, the Gym Leader can only use three Pokémon in total.
Ways to Get Reputation[]
- Battling trainers in the wild or in your gym
- Helping out Umbal City residents with requests
- Donating to the Item Bank in Umbal City
